Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith, arrived in Haifa in 1868 - interestingly, the same year that the two founders of the Templar community, Christoph Hoffmann and Georg David Hardegg, came to the city.
The Bahá’ís and the Templers remained independent, though interacted as neighbors would - with the Templers residing in what is today the German Colony, and the Bahá’ís residing in what became known as the Persian Colony.
Historical records point towards friendly interactions between the Templers and the Bahá’ís in matters of spirituality and faith, construction and neighborliness.
The lecture will explore the nature of these interactions, as well as provide background and context on the presence of the Bahá’í Faith in Haifa.
The lecture will be held in English
